i grew up as a jw i left the church when i was 14 because a ministerial servant who was conducting a one on one baptism study with me said that i couldn't ballance my dreams of being a professional singer with the so called "truth".

i stopped the study and told my mom i no longer wanted to be a witness.

I never really believed it...even from a early Age.But you know how it is...all i knew was wrapped up in it,family,Friends and a strange sort of comfort Zone.Talks, 8-10 hours a Month on Ministry etc,etc.It was just so mind numbingly Dull though!

so,it wasnt too devastating just to fade nicely away.

But it must be terrible for those who once sincerely believed it.

Bono can be a bit annoying at times and cringey too(kissing Girls hands at Concerts etc lol)but i really think his Heart is genuinely in the right place.He seems to really care about Social injustices,and not just dropping the Thirld World debt....he certainly gets more done than the slow moving wheels of Government.

Kudos to him.Also im a huge Fan of theirs and must get the new CD!!

Unlike 90% of the People mentioned he took on International World class Sportsmen and proved himself time and again.3 World Cups (thats WORLD cups!)and a great ambassador for Football.

lets just spare a thought for the tiny tots and older kids who won't be enjoying any christmas festivities this year.

no parties, no presents, no santa, no fun, no carols no anything.

it's a damned shame that kids miss out so much.

They're now passe. I guess the R&F displayed the "spirit of a sound mind", eh and boycotted the "special effort"!

I assure you they still do it in this Country.My 10 Year old Nephew was dragged out last Year .Or maybe that was the last time.Either way its bordering on cruelty,dragging Kids out on Ministry Xmas Day.

malachi 3:18

then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth god and him that serveth him not.. this verse says that if we don't serve god, then we are wicked..... from a jw point of view, if we don't preach with them and follow whatever they do, then we are wicked.

but there are so many ways of serving god, that they don't even do themselves.

I like that one Little Toe,all the time we were bombarded with how differant and loving the Elders were to Pharisees!!

Hypocrisy was quite a Problem amongst Elders in my old Cong.

Anyone had disk replacement surgery?

hey guys, i know it's been awhile since i've been here.

hubby *cc* thought it might be a good idea to post and see if any of you have had disk replacement.

some of you may know that i had a disk in my neck replaced about 5 weeks ago.
